Oban High School won the Great Glen School’s Shinty Sixes, which were held at Blairbeg Park in Drumnadrochit today, 3rd October, seeing off Kingussie High School A team in a close final.
After the round robin stage Oban High, Kingussie High and Glen Urquhart High School A & B teams won through to the semi finals.
In the semi finals Kingussie went on to defeat Glen Urquhart B 3 – 0 and Oban overcame Glen Urquhart A 2 – 0 to set up an Oban against Kingussie final.
Hosts, Glen Urquhart A and B battled out the third place final with the A team winning through thanks to a Daniel MacLean strike to earn the bragging rights.
The grand final was an end to end affair, however it was Oban who took the lead through Scott Campbell and the win was confirmed when George Pagan found the net to make it 2 – 0.
There was further cheer for Oban when Scott Campbell was awarded player of the tournament.
