Over the coming weeks, Scotland managers Alan Macrae (Men’s) and Ross Brown (Women’s) will be holding trials and training sessions for their squads, which will be announced in due course. All four squads will feature 19 players, ahead of the compromised rules showdowns.

Speaking at the launch, Camanachd Vice President Willie MacDonald said:

“There is no greater honour than being asked to represent your country. I was fortunate as a player to play in many shinty/hurling international matches and know what it means to pull on that Scotland jersey and represent your county. The venue for this year’s matches the SuperValu Pairc Chaoimh Stadium, is simply incredible and a real honour and privilege awaits the teams. I would like to thank our friends at the GAA and Cork County Board for all their support and work in the lead up to the International. I would also like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to our long-standing sponsors Mowi for their continued support of the Scottish teams and the Camanachd Association.

Karen Williamson, President of the Women’s Camanachd Association, said:

“We are delighted to once again to be involved in the Shinty/Camogie International and look forward to traveling to County Cork to play in the impressive SuperValu Pairc Chaoimh Stadium. Last year’s game in Inverness was extremely competitive, and we hope to go one better this year and take the trophy back to Scotland. We would like to thank our sponsors Mowi for their continued support of the women’s international team and women’s shinty.

MOWI:

Ben Hadfield, COO Farming Scotland, Ireland, The Faroes & Canada East“

“ Mowi is proud to stand alongside the Camanachd Association, the GAA and the Cork Country Board and thank them for all their support in bringing this international series to Ireland. Our sponsorship is about more than supporting elite competition – it is about investing in communities both in Scotland and in Ireland, celebrating heritage and inspiring future generations. The Shinty Hurling International embodies all of that, and we are delighted to play our part. We truly look forward to what will be great competitive matches in a fantastic stadium.

Speaking at the launch, Uachtarán CLG Jarlath Burns said:

“There is no greater honour than being asked to represent your country. Our hurlers have represented their clubs and counties with distinction and now have the chance to achieve the ultimate. These hurling and camogie clashes with our shinty cousins in Scotland offer a chance for us both to express our special cultural identity and close ties. I hope we see a good crowd at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the games.”

The Women’s International match will start at 4pm followed by the Men’s match at 6pm.
