The Camanachd Association, in association with The National Lottery Heritage Fund, is excited to announce the creation of the Shinty Heritage Grant. This fund has been established to help shinty clubs and Shinty Memories organisations preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the sport. A total of £10,000 is available, divided into ten separate grants of £1,000 each. These grants will support local workshops and initiatives that gather stories, images, videos, and newspaper clippings about shinty’s history and its community impact.
By capturing this heritage, local groups will contribute to future updates to Shinty’s Story – Sgeul na Camanachd, ensuring that the exhibition remains engaging and relevant for visitors over time.
You will be appointed a Heritage Support Officer who will provide advice and guidance on how to run a successful session and how to digitise/draw out stories from your community.
