Mowi Game of the Week - Inveraray vs Glengarry
Leona Falconer Interview
It’s a first this weekend as Inveraray take on Glengarry for the first time since ‘Aray gained promotion to the WCA Mowi National League. Glengarry will be looking to bounce back from defeat against Aberdour, and we spoke to top scorer Leona Falconer to get her thoughts ahead of the match.
It’s a trip down to face Inveraray this weekend, how are you looking forward to the game?
We’re all looking forward to it. We’ll be going down there focused and hopefully we can put in a strong performance.
An earlier postponement means you’re yet to face Inveraray, how do you prepare for a team you’ve never played?
It definitely adds a different challenge. When you haven’t faced a team before, there’s always an element of the unknown until the game actually starts. We are focused on our own preparation and trust the work we have been doing in training, but at the same time we’ll concentrate on our own game and making sure we’re ready for whatever challenge comes.
You’ve continued to lead the line with 7 goals so far, how is your own game going?
I’m happy with how things have been going so far. The goals have been nice to get so hopefully I can keep working hard and add a few more as the season goes on.
You were selected for the West squad last season, is getting back in the aim for this year?
It’s always great to be selected, so I’m working hard and hoping my performances this year can help me get another chance.
