Beauly Shinty Club virtual AGM a success

Last night, Beauly Shinty Club broke new ground by running an AGM online.

COVID-19 restrictions hampered the club’s desire to meet in person, so instead, for the first time in their 128 year history, a virtual AGM was held instead. Other than the format, business was conducted as usual and members enjoyed catching up after so long apart.

A Beauly Shinty Club committee member said: “The AGM went very well and whilst we had hoped for better circumstances regarding COVID-19 by now, we were able to function just as efficiently online. We would like to put on record our warmest of thanks to former Club Secretary, Steven MacKenzie who is stepping down from his role on the executive committee to focus on his pending election to become the President of the Camanachd Association. The work that Steven has done over the years has been of great impact to the club and we have no doubt that he will lead the Association into an exciting new chapter.”

The Camanachd Association is happy to help any club get set up for a virtual AGM – if you would like to discuss this then please get in contact with aarron.macleod@shinty.com who will assist in any way possible.
