U14 Development League Final

On Sunday the 3rd of September Glengarry Shinty Club and Bute Shinty Club met in the 2023 Development League final at Mossfield, Oban.
Alec MacVicar the official for the day got the game underway for this 1pm throw up. The game started very end to end with Lexie Cameron breaking through after 2 minutes for Glengarry but Bute keeper Connor Malcolm did well to clear. On 6 minutes it was Bute’s turn to attack with Louie Macdonald striking just past the post.
On 19 minutes Louie Macdonald got the opening goal of the game for Bute with a strike from distance.
A few minutes later Josh White strike from 20 yards was dealt with well by Malcolm.
On 23 minutes Holly Fraser in the Glengarry goal made a good save with her stick and did well to get the ball away under pressure from the Bute forwards.
On 25 minutes Bute doubled their lead when Macdonald doubled his tally for the day.
A couple of minutes later Fraser produced another brilliant save with her stick and directed the ball past the post.
Right before half time Cameron Dougal struck from 20 yards to give Bute a 3-0 half time lead.
5 minutes after the restart Lexie Cameron turned her marker before dribbling in towards the goal and slipping the ball past the keeper with a great finish.
However, straight from the restart Robert Walker scored for Bute to re-establish their 3 goal cushion.
The game continued to flow end to end with Jamie Ross hit a shot narrowly over the bar on 53 minutes for Glengarry.
Bute finished the game strongly and in the last 15 minutes they added further goals from Aaron McFarlane, Luke Horsburgh, Lloyd Robertson and another 2 from Louie Macdonald to take his tally in the game to 4. Alec MacVicar blew the final whistle as the game ended 9-1 in Bute’s favour.
The teams were presented their medals by Roddy McCuish with Bute’s Captain lifting the trophy high into the air.
