The Chieftain’s cup is Shinty’s newest cup competition, first being competed for in 2022 as the “Single Team cup”. Open to teams with only one team, it aims to provide the opportunity for smaller clubs to win silverware and introduce a new even level of competition.

13 teams entered the maiden 2022 edition, as Col-Glen were the inaugural champions, defeating Glengarry in their first cup final in 32 years. The runners up that day, Glengarry have subsequently won the 2023 and 2024 competitions.
