The Camanachd Association regrets to record the passing of former Lochaber Camanachd player, Colin MacFadyen.

The below was provided by Lochaber Camanachd:

“We are saddened to be informed tonight of the death of Lochaber Camanachd stalwart of yesteryear Colin MacFadyen!

Colin was a Spean lad and member of the very successful 1965 team that won the Sutherland Cup, Strathdearn Cup and the League.

We are informed by Richard Gall, himself indigenous to the Braes, that there are only 5 members of that squad left now.

We must continue to honour the memory of every player that has pulled on the Lochaber jersey and worn the badge close to their heart with pride and passion, every single one of them has made a significant contribution to sustaining our wonderful club ensuring that it survives for following generations.

Rest in Peace Colin and thank you for your commitment to Lochaber Camanachd!

Lochabair Gu Brath!”

Thanks to Hugh Dan MacLennan for providing the above photo of the Lochaber Camanachd team of 1965.
