Disability Inclusion eLearning: Introduction to Inclusive Practice

Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) has developed an eLearning course called Introduction to Inclusive Practice. This course is hosted on sportscotland’s virtual learning environment, Brightspace. The Introduction to Inclusive Practice eLearning is designed for everyone who would like to gain confidence working with participants with disabilities inclusively.

We invite all coaches and deliverers of sport and physical activity with an interest in this area to enrol into the course. Simply provide your details via the enrolment survey. (https://forms.office.com/r/y4JPVajtPL)

New learners are enrolled into the course every Thursday afternoon and can undertake the learning in their own time. The module should take approximately 60 minutes to complete and can be completed in stages rather than all at once if you prefer. You will receive a completion certificate on successful completion of the course.

The course covers the following 6 units:

  • Introduction
  • Knowing your participants
  • Effective communication
  • AIM model and STEP framework
  • Challenges
  • Signposting

SDS also offer a 2-hour interactive face to face workshop delivered by an experienced Sport Educator for those who would like to explore the practical application of their learning.

If you are interested in accessing a 2-hour face to face practical workshop, you can note your interest with SDS here. SDS will contact you with dates for workshops being held in your area.
