DESCRIPTION:Dear Secretary \nIt gives me great pleasure in attaching the Camanachd Association Annual Report for 2022. You will find links to the key information for the 2022 Annual General Meeting where all members will have the opportunity to be part of history in helping our sport take the additional steps in making helmets and faceguards mandatory. \nOur role as a governing body and indeed for a club committee is to protect the interests of your members and this extends to their health and wellbeing. A helmet and a compliant faceguard are significant factors to mitigate risk in our sport. This point was made crystal clear in our session with sportscotland’s Doctor leading on concussion in last month’s club consultation. \nWhilst we acknowledge the challenges for the small number of participants who have never used a helmet we have introduced a clear visor to accommodate this. The meeting is provisionally planned to take place online using Microsoft Teams however we are exploring a hybrid option. \nVoting Members are now invited to submit proposed amendments to the Memorandum\, the Articles of Association\, the Rules of Play and any Director nominations (or any other proposals) for consideration at the 2022 AGM. A meeting to discuss any proposals will be held on Wednesday 21st September. If you require any support with this process please don’t hesitate to get in touch. The formal proposals should be received by the Camanachd Association in writing by 5pm on Thursday 29th September 2022 and presented in a form that can be put forward to the AGM and on which a vote can be taken. \nFollowing the above guidance at least six weeks prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting (13th October)\, notice shall be given to voting members of any proposals we have received with an invitation to submit any relevant counter-proposals (see below) or amendments. \n24.10.22 – Special and Ordinary Resolutions – Final Version Requesting Amendments – Shared with members on 13.10.22 \nThese counter proposals or amendments should be received by the Camanachd Association in writing by 5pm on Thursday 27th October and presented in a form that can be put forward to the AGM and on which a vote can be taken. DESCRIPTION:This event is for either primary club or school teams (or a mix) and is played 7 aside with 3 subs (Squads of 10). The cost of entry for the 2 events is £25. \nThe first round will see the teams split into random leagues (regardless of club/school status) and play in a round robin of games throughout the day. Round 2 (the finals day) will see the teams split into 2 leagues\, based on the results of Round 1. There will be a cup and a plate to play for and teams will be in groups based on their ability (not club/school status). \nA condition of these events is that each team will have a UHI Student Coach allocated to them\, they will be responsible for getting to know the players across the 2 days\, taking the warm ups\, encouraging the players and generally learning a bit more about shinty (with the support of the teams coach). DESCRIPTION:The Bullough Cup Final will take place on Saturday 23rd October with a 2pm throw up at the Playing Fields\, Tighnabruaich. \nKyles Athletic will take on Lochside Rovers in what promises to be an exciting final to conclude an incredibly busy period for both clubs. \nKyles won with goals four goals from David Martin (x2)\, Ross Donald and Finnan Kennedy to overcome a Bruce Johnson goal for Kilmory in the semi finals. \nIn the other semi final Lochside Rovers enjoyed a convincing victory against Oban Celtic with goals from Michael MacQueen 29\, 32\, Lewis Buchanan 34\, 46\, 66\, Matthew Sloss 37\, 63\, 77\, Innes MacMillan 80\, Innes Jackson 90. \nAfter the game Lochside Rovers Manager Gareth Evans chatted to new Regional Development Officer Les Kinvig. \nLes Kinvig on Twitter: “Lochside Rovers to face Kyles Athletic 2nds in Bullogh Cup final on 23rd October.
