On Sunday 27^th April, the Camanachd Association held their annual North of Scotland Girls Primary Tournament at Braeview Park, Beauly. The competition saw 12 teams and 100 girls from clubs and primary schools across the North.

The teams were split into two leagues, playing across 3 pitches for games that were 6 minutes each way.

All players were in great spirits and some excellent shinty was on show throughout the day for all parents, coaches and supports to enjoy! The top two teams from each group progressed into the semi-finals.

Strathglass fell short of securing a final spot after losing 2-0 to an experienced Kilmallie girls team in their semi final and Beauly put up a fierce fight against Bun-Sgoil Gaidhlig Port Righ (BSGP) in the second semifinal match, which ended in a 7-1 victory for BSGP.

The final was a very exciting physical game between two teams. They both battled hard and contested in an excellent game of shinty however, it was Kilmallie following 2 years of previous disappointment in this competition final, that were able to secure the win. BSGP continued to put pressure on the Kilmallie defence and kept their heads high to battle right until the full time whistle.

Kilmallie were presented with the BR Plumbing and Heating Girls Primary Trophy for 2025 by Barry MacDoanld.

A massive thanks goes to all players, coaches and parents for attending the event, as well as to Beauly shinty club for hosting, running the tea hut and setting up the pitches.
