Margaret MacIntyre, Kilmallie

Margaret MacIntyre, wife of Kilmallie stalwart and former Secretary and Executive Officer of the Camanachd Association, Alastair MacIntyre, passed away peacefully on Wednesday 10th Feb.

Alasdair was Goal Keeper for Kilmallie when they won the Camanachd Cup in 1964 at The Old Town Park, Fort William defeating Inveraray by 4 goals 1.  After he gave up playing Alastair continued his association with Kilmallie serving many roles from Secretary to Club Chairman, a role which he still holds.

Alasdair became Secretary of the Camanachd Association in the Mid 80’s before becoming Executive Officer, a post he held until his retiral in 2003. The operations of the CA were run from his garage at home.

Margaret’s funeral will take place in private on Saturday 20th February at St Mary’s RC Church, Fort William with interment thereafter at Glen Nevis Cemetery. Anyone wishing to pay their respects can do so outside the church at approx. 11.40.
