Congratulations to Dr John Wallace who has won the MOWI Social Responsibility Award for 2021.

John provided support to the Camanachd Association and its clubs during the pandemic and was always on hand to support his local club Kilmallie on matchdays. John is the Scottish National Team doctor too and whether it is his advice on COVID or his quick action on matchdays he has become an invaluable member of our sporting community.

See below – John is presented with his award by Jayne MacKay from sponsors MOWI.

A Kilmallie representative said:

“Doctor John lead the way with getting Kilmallie back started before many others. He has led the way with our whole community in this pandemic and has turned himself into a local celebrity as everybody knows who he is. I also believe he was helping The Camanachd with advice on Covid as well. We were the 1st club to really feel the covid pinch as we lost several players the opening weeks of the season. He led from the front on this matter which set the tone for other clubs locally to follow which they did. They also took to Doctor Wallace for advice as well. To add to this, he attends every Kilmallie 1st team fixture and if we are not playing, he will follow our 2nd team. I have lost count of the times his expertise has been needed and helped the boys from both sides. Countless stitches given out to players from all teams at side of the park. The man is a diamond.”
