Yeah, really looking forward to the game.  This will be the first time I have played against an Oban/Lochside team at senior level, as our paths never crossed when I was playing for Skye. I’m sure it will be a tough game, as Oban have had a good run in the cups this year, but hopefully our recent form and points on the board in the league will make it a competitive fixture!

It all comes down to squad size and player availability.  Last year, games were being played with 10 men on occasions. But with a good run of results at the end of last year to avoid relegation and a strong start this season has bred some enthusiasm and belief at the club, which in turn has attracted some ex-players back to the team, increased commitment from the current squad to make more fixtures and given the under 17 guys more confidence to play at their full potential.

We just need to keep doing what we have been doing.  Keep it solid at the back, keep hitting the target and when things aren’t going our way, we just need to grind out a result, we have been good at not letting the heads go down.  Oban will certainly be our toughest test of the season with their experience and large pool of players.

It’s been pretty unexpected, but enjoyable!  This has been my first full season of 1^st team shinty since 2011 (due to work commitments). After recently joining Ardnamurchan I wouldn’t have thought I would be sitting on 24 goals in my last 12 appearances!  Not many of them have been pretty, but I have luckily been in the right place at the right time!  The guys have been a joy to play with and it’s great to see the number of goal threats we have, with Ardnamurchan holding 4 of the top 6 goal scorer spots in the league, so we are not reliant on any one individual.
