Mowi Game of the Week - Inverness vs Kinlochshiel

Lexie MacKenzie Interview

For game week 17 we focus our sights on the WCA Premier League once again, as Kinlochshiel make the trip to Inverness. Ahead of the game we spoke to Kinlochshiel starlet Lexie MacKenzie.

It’s a trip to the Bught this weekend – how is the mood in the camp ahead of the game?

We have had a few hard games and have been unfortunate to not come away with any points but we have matched the top teams in either the first or second half of the game and there’s a belief among us that we are not far away!

It was a close 3-2 win against ISC earlier in the season – what do you think you need to repeat in order to come out on top this time?

We need to have plenty movement of in the forward line and need to capitalise on every chance we get and everybody needs to give 100% on the day.

After a tough run of fixtures, how important is this weekend’s match in gaining some momentum heading into the final fixtures of the season?

It’s important to everybody to gain the 2 points and start to move up the league table again. Inverness away is always a hard game but hopefully we can win this to give us the momentum to take some points off the teams at the top of the table.

You sit joint 3rd in the Mowi Premier League scoring charts with 7 goals – how do you feel your game is developing?

I feel I’m getting a lot stronger as a player this season purely though playing more shinty on the top of the premier I’ve been playing u17s and for Lochcarron in North 2 which I feel has really helped to develop the physical side of my game.
