This weekend high flying Skye take on the champions Kingussie in the Mowi Premiership. Ahead of the game, we caught up with returning forward Dylan Borthwick who is Kings’ top scorer this campaign…
Dylan, first things first, happy birthday! Hoping for a hat-trick on Saturday as a gift from the shinty gods?
Thank you, a hat-trick would be amazing – it’s a tough game to try get one – but you never know!
Skye have had a strong start to the season and sit 3rd, what kind of match are you expecting from them?
I am expecting a tough game from Skye especially as we are travelling you can never count Skye out of any game.
Kingussie are undefeated against Skye over the last 5 years and potentially beyond, how much confidence does that give you going into Saturday?
For sure that gives us confidence but we have to take it game by game Skye are a totally different team and all it takes is one goal.
On a personal note, it’s been a great start for you returning to shinty this year, 4 goals in 4 games, what does it feel like being back?
Yeah it’s been a great start to the season so far and hopefully it continues, it feels good to be back playing with the boys again it feels like I’ve never been away.
Finally, it was a gruelling 120 minutes plus penalties against Lovat on Saturday passed, do you think that fatigue could play a factor come this weekend, both physical and mental?
Hopefully not, we are a young fit team but like I said you can never count Skye out they will come at us right from the start so we will just have to play our game and see what happens.
