We caught up with Dunadd star Eilidh Cameron who is currently shinty’s top goalscorer with 18 goals so far…

Congrats Eilidh on being the top scorer for Shinty at the moment! What motivates you to perform so well?

I enjoy being part of the team, which provides me with the drive to perform well.

What are some of the things you do to stay sharp and focused during the games?

To keep focused while playing, I always plan ahead and study the game. I also enjoy the responsibilities and work that come with being a part of a team.

An incredible 18 goals so far this year, have you got any targets in mind for the rest of the season? 

I don’t have any particular targets in mind, but I’ll keep doing what I’m doing.

What’s the aim for the club for this season, obviously you guys are top of the league at the moment?

As a club, our goal is to perform as well as we can in the league and, ideally, to still be at the top at the end of the season.

What is your favourite thing about playing shinty?

My favourite part of playing shinty is the camaraderie, competitiveness and getting to travel about the different places and playing on different fields.
