Shinty Memories Scotland Auction

SMS fund-raising

Shinty Memories Scotland is launching a short series of auctions to help with fund-raising activities which support the work being done in shinty communities.  A number of significantly important shinty match programmes and books have appeared which will be offered to the highest bidder.  The highest bid received will ensure free postage of the document  asap after the closing date

Our first auction is a fine specimen of the 1971 Camanachd Cup Final match programme between Kyles and Newtonmore.  This one might not attract too many bids from Tighnabruaich but it should be popular in Newtonmore.

It was 50 years ago!  Who was the referee?  What were the team line-ups – legends every one. What price was a shinty ball and stick in these days? Find out who was playing in the tournament at the South Inch in Perth.  Read about a disputed shinty tie in 1898, involving Inveraray (who else?  Nothing changes eh?)

Would it be worth more if our Ambassador John MacKenzie MBE signed it? He played in the game after all.

Opening bids of £10 will set the ball rolling.  Bids should be lodged on the Shinty Memories Scotland Facebook page.  Bids close on Sunday February 7 at 1800 and the highest bid will be confirmed asap that evening.
