Camanachd Sruighlea

Stirling Camanachd was established in January 2022 by a group of parents with an interest in Shinty. The club has come a long way in a short time and is growing its membership rapidly. Players participate in the Central Scotland First Shinty League at Development Squad level (Primary 1/3) and also in the Primary 4/5 and Primary 6/7 age-groups. Skill levels are developing well.

Club is relatively young in comparison to many clubs, we are focused on promoting Shinty in Stirling and wider area. Players are mostly Primary School age with some who have graduated to High School. The players are enthusiastic participants in tournaments across Central Scotland and great progress being made.

Most players are in families that do not have a previous connection with the game and there is great interest in our traditional sport expanding in the area. A number of clusters  in the wider area are developing well, at Crieff and Falkirk, as well as the Gaelic-Medium Unit in Stirling. More clusters are in the pipeline, as well as a girls’ team to cater for the high number of girls who want to play and an Under-14 team.

Indoor winter training takes place at the Baptist Church Sports Hall in Stirling and outdoor coaching at King’s Park through the better weather.
