The Strathdearn Cup is shinty’s reserve cup competition, and is open to 2nd teams playing in the north region.
First competed for in 1911, the Strathdearn Camanachd Association were the original administrators of the competition, with the name living on despite the Camanachd Association taking over the running of the cup.
Newtonmore are the current holders, having lifted their 17th title with a win over Skye. Kingussie have ran out victors on 12 occasions, whilst Lochcarron can claim 9 victories over the years.
In 2021, the competition witnessed perhaps the greatest comeback in Shinty’s long history, as Lovat overturned 4-0 deficit in extra time of the final to finish 4-4. The Kiltarlity outfit incredibly went on to win the trophy on penalties.
