Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Replica Wins Prestigious Craftsmanship Awards
The craftsmanship behind the Camanachd Cup replica has been recognised with top honours at the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Awards in London. The team, from original trophy makers Hamilton & Inches, responsible for recreating one of shinty’s most iconic trophies received gold and silver awards for excellence in silversmithing, polishing, and chasing.
Paul won the gold award and the Birmingham Assay Office Award for senior chasers, while Colin secured silver for senior polishers and David earned silver for senior silversmiths. Their achievements highlight the remarkable skill and dedication that went into crafting the replica, a project that took six months to complete.
Camanachd Association President, Burton Morrison, praised the achievement: “The likeness to the historic Camanachd Cup is remarkable, and we are thrilled with the exceptional quality of the work. This new trophy not only honours the legacy of shinty but ensures that future generations of champions can lift a symbol worthy of the rich history it represents.”
The recognition has provided an incredible opportunity to showcase this remarkable craftsmanship. The Camanachd Cup replica will now be on exhibition in London this week before being displayed at the Birmingham Assay Office from 24th March.
The Camanachd Association extends its congratulations to all involved in this outstanding achievement. Their dedication ensures that shinty’s premier competition continues to be represented by a trophy that embodies the sport’s proud history and enduring spirit.
