It’s a dress rehearsal for the WCA Premier Cup final this weekend as Badenoch face Kinlochshiel, but take no shine off the game as it’s an equally important match in the hunt for the Mowi Premier League. Badenoch sit atop of the table but have to contend with an on form Shiel side pushing them all the way if they are to keep it like that. Ahead of the match we spoke to a player who is no stranger herself to winning trophies to get her thoughts..

Massive game in the hunt for the WCA Premier League as Badenoch take on Kinlochshiel, how are you looking forward to the game?

Everyone is really looking forward to the game on Sunday. We know it’s a big game in the race for the league and expect a really tough game but we will go in with confidence with our recent run of form.

You’re back out on the pitch after some time away, how does it feel to pick up the caman again?

It’s been great to get back to shinty. Although it will take me some time to get back to fitness and find my touch! But the girls have been great and it’s nice to be back involved with the group and of course to have an extra special supporter on the sidelines!

Quite incredibly Badenoch have hit 27 goals in the last 3 games, are you confident of continuing this goal scoring form against one of the strongest defences in the league?

I think the recent scoring form will give us a confidence boost, we know from Shiel’s results they will be very tricky to breakdown but I believe we have the quality to create the chances and we just have to hope we finish them.

You hit a double in your last game in the Premier Cup semi final, how do you adapt your game to the 12 a side format of the cup?

We really enjoyed adapting to the 12 aside game and I think it really suited our play. We were able to use the space and our movement to our advantage to link up and create multiple chances. Everyone played really well that day and enjoyed the game so hopefully this can be the start of more opportunities to play at 12 aside in the future.
