Despite the fact that many of our clubs are still recovering from the effects of Scotland’s exploits at EURO 2020, there was still a lot to be excited about this weekend.

Norman Strachan made the trip to Lochaber to cover the derby between Fort William and Kilmallie at An Aird in the Cottages.com MacTavish Cup 1st Round. You can see all the goals and interviews below.

Elsewhere, in MOWI League C Oban Camanachd beat Inveraray 4-0 with Daniel MacVicar grabbing a 2nd half double to ensure both points were returning to Oban. It was 4-0 wins all round for Kingussie, their 1st team beating Skye at the Dell and their 2nds putting the same scoreline by Inverness without reply.

In the Highland Industrial Supplies Sutherland Cup Fort William did the double over Kilmallie with their 2nd team winning 3-1. Neil Robertson’s 77th minute goal was enough for GMA 2nds to beat Bute 2-1. At Mossfield Lochside Rovers put 5 past Lochaber with the help of 4 goals from Lewis Buchanan. In the other game, Beauly ran out 8-1 winners against Strathspey, Sean Stewart helping himself to a hat-trick.

A final word must go to Fort William and Kingussie, both of whom had socially distanced spectators for the first time. Our congratulations go to them for succesfully co-ordinating this and all of the background paperwork that goes with it.
