On Saturday Lochaber will face off against Badenoch in the Mowi WCA Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup Final. We caught up with their Captain Amy Disher ahead of the big game:
Amy, as captain, how are you and the team feeling ahead of this year’s Mowi Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup Final against Badenoch?
Myself and the team are looking forward to the game on Saturday, we have trained hard and put in the effort and are excited for the match.
Badenoch have been dominant this season. What do you think will be the key to overcoming them in the final?
One of the key things will be working together as a team, all of us being vocal and backing each other up in every challenge.
Lochaber have had a strong season leading up to this final. What has been the most important factor in your team’s success this year?
We are all determined to do well which keeps us going and we are good at motivating & pushing each other when needed
Badenoch have a powerful attack. How does Lochaber plan to defend against their forward line?
We have fit defenders who know their role on the day to match Badenoch’s attack.
What does it mean to you personally, and to the team, to be playing in the Mowi Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup Final?
Personally I am delighted to lead the team to our first final in 7 years, the whole squad are looking forward to the occasion and hope we can bring the cup back to Lochaber.
