You were the top scorer in the league last season with 36 goals – how confident are you in maintaining that level of form this year?

Hopefully, the form can carry on this season. It’s going to be a tough season, but we’ll just take it 1 game at a time. If I’m not scoring, hopefully, I’ll be helping set up chances for my team mates!

First up in the Mowi Premiership for Cabers it’s Newtonmore – how important is it to start strong and lay down an early marker?

It’ll be massive for us to get a strong start, Newtonmore are are a really good team, and with them signing the Sloss brothers, they’ll be even stronger this season so Saturdays going to be a really tough game.

What improvements have the team focused on over the winter to build on an impressive 2nd place finish this season?

Finishing 2nd was great, but obviously, you’d like to finish top. We had a good chat just before pre season started, and I think we all agreed we need to be consistent throughout the season if we’re to challenge for anything.

As a forward, you’ll be up against a tough Newtonmore defence—how do you plan to break them down?

It’s going to be a really hard physical game. I imagine Daniel will be playing in defence now with Rory Kennedy, so that’s going to be really difficult to break down. We’ll need to try to keep their back 4 busy and take our chances when they come.
