An Aird is the venue this Saturday as Newtonmore face off against Oban Camanachd to determine who will battle it out against Kingussie in the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final in September. Ahead of the game we spoke to Oban Camanachd manager Daniel Cameron.

It’s a trip to Fort William to face Newtonmore in the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup semis – how are you feeling ahead of the game?

Myself, Iain and Aiden are looking forward to this weekend as we have been every week as it brings a fresh challenge.

Camanachd are unbeaten since 2023 against Newtonmore – are you confident of extending this?

We won’t give past fixtures too much thought on Saturday – it will be a different Oban Camanachd team and a different Newtonmore team I’m sure as well.

You’re 13 matches unbeaten – how is the mood around the squad right now?

The squad are in a good place and have been working hard since January to improve each week. We believe in them as a group and will be working hard between now and throw up Saturday to get them prepared the best we can.

Top of the league, in the Macaulay final and a potential Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup final – it could potentially be a very important season for the club, how much would it mean to get it over the line?

Week by week is our mindset. We have our goals in house and they have not changed since the start of the season. We’ll let everyone else do the predictions.
