Mowi Game of the Week - Caberfeidh vs Col-Glen

Murray McClymont Interview

Saturday sees Caberfeidh and Col-Glen meet in the league for the first time this weekend, with both teams looking to bounce back from the previous week’s defeats in the Macaulay Cup. Having come close to holding title holders Kingussie to a draw in their previous game, Col-Glen will hope to take confidence from this and take their first Premiership victory, and we spoke to captain Murray McClymont ahead of the game.

Col-Glen will make the trip up to Strathpeffer to face Caberfeidh for the 1st time this weekend, how is the mood in the squad ahead of the game?

Mood is good, overall the boys are looking forward to it and we’ve got a couple players back this week, so that should be a boost.

How do you prepare to face a team you’ve not played before?

Since going up to the National we have faced a number of new teams, so we are used to this now – we focus on our own game and trying to improve each week.

A depleted squad was unable to progress in the Macaulay Cup last weekend, what lessons can the team take from that game into this game?

Having a small squad, we have been is that position before so it’s just about putting it behind us and taking each game as it comes with the squads we put out.

How has the step up to the Premiership been for the club, and what experience is the team gaining from it?

Our team knows on our day we can compete with the top teams in the Premiership, it’s just about being more consistent week in week out at this level and trying to put our strongest squads out each Saturday.
