Steven MacLachlan to referee 2026 Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final

The Camanachd Association is delighted to confirm that Ballachulish’s Steven MacLachlan has been appointed referee for the 2026 Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final between Kingussie and Newtonmore. The final will take place at Mossfield Park, Oban, on Saturday 19th September.

MacLachlan began his refereeing career in 2017, taking charge of Inverness against Caberfeidh Seconds on the outside pitch at the Bught in his first fixture.

Since then, he has progressed through the refereeing ranks and established himself as one of the leading officials in the sport. His career highlights include taking charge of the MacTavish Cup Final and Celtic Society Cup Final, having also officiated the Strathdearn Cup Final earlier in his refereeing journey.

Speaking on his appointment, Officials Director John MacRitchie said:

“Steven’s appointment is thoroughly deserved and reflects the commitment and consistency he has shown since taking up refereeing in 2017.

He has developed into a highly respected official and has demonstrated his ability on major occasions, including the MacTavish Cup and Celtic Society Cup Finals. A Camanachd Cup Final is the highest honour for a referee in our domestic game, and we are confident Steven will handle the occasion with professionalism, fairness and composure.”

I’m particularly proud to be another referee from Ballachulish to receive the honour. I’ve had a lot of support from a lot of people along the way, and only because of a lot of people am I still here to be able to get this accolade.
