Kilmallie take on Kingussie in the MacMaster Cup Final this Saturday to crown the top team in under 14 shinty at Mossfield Stadium, Oban. With the game throwing up at 11am, we spoke to Kingussie captain Archie Shepherd to get his thoughts ahead of the big game.
Archie, you take on Kilmallie in the MacMaster Cup final, how are you feeling ahead of the game?
I’m really excited. We’ve worked hard all season to get here, so we’re ready to give it everything.
You topped your league this year, does that give you confidence ahead of the game?
Definitely. We know we can compete with anyone, so it gives us a lot of confidence going into the final.
In the semi-final you beat Kinlochshiel, what do you think you did well that day and how can you do that in the final?
We worked hard as a team, defended well and took our chances. We’ll need to do the same in the final.
You will take on Kilmallie in the Final, what do you make of them as a side?
They’re a strong team with some great players. We know it’ll be a tough game, but we’re confident in ourselves.
