Ardnamurchan Camanachd achieve the Silver level of the Camanachd Associations Club Accreditation scheme

Freddie Patterson and Lisa Ford accept the certificate on behalf of Ardnamurchan Camanachd

The Camanachd Association are delighted to break the news that Ardnamurchan have achieved the silver level of our ClubMark award.

Ardnamurchan Camanachd have made strides of the last number of years and continue to grow and develop as a club.  The 2019 season saw three Ladies’ teams competing in National, South 2 and Development leagues and the South 2 team taking the league title.  Players were recognised in both MOWI WCA and CA awards.2019 also saw the re-introduction of the Senior Men’s squad who fulfilled all their matches and were presented with the CA Fair Play Award after receiving no bookings.

The club has a thriving Primary section with players training from Nursery to P7 where young players from the Ladies and Men’s teams lead the coaching. Ardnamurchan also had great success competing in U14, U17 and girls’ U18 leagues

The 2020 AGM brought a host of new committee members on board, including many of our young players and the club are looking forward to continuing this development into 2021.  Fundraising efforts led by Murray MacGregor and Claire Cameron have continued through 2020 ensuring the lack of income due to Covid will not impact the next season. The Introduction of a new fitness coach has been very well received and sessions have continued throughout lockdown.

The club are also supporting discussions with the Camanachd Association looking at School of Shinty status for Ardnamurchan High School.

Once again, we would like to offer our warm congratulations to Ardnamurchan for this achievement.
