It’s a trip down to Tighnabruich to face Kyles – what kind of game are you expecting?

There’s no such thing as an easy game in Tighnabruich, so we are expecting a tough physical encounter against a Kyles team that has had a few decent results recently. Therefore, we will need to be at our very best.

You were close to reaching last year’s final – does this put a marker down for what Oban Camanachd are capable of?

In the semi-final last year, we threw away a 2-0 lead and lost to Lovat. Winning the Camanachd Cup is always one of our main goals at the start of the year. We have come close a couple of times, but we have been given a very difficult draw.

It’ll be a repeat of this fixture next month for the Glasgow Celtic Challenge Cup Final – how are preparations underway for this game?

The Celtic final isn’t in our thoughts yet, full focus is on this weekend and each of the league games, which are starting to feel like cup finals themselves.

You ran out 5-4 winners in this fixture earlier this season – what did the team learn from this game, and how are you working on Saturday’s game plan?

It was a pretty chaotic game to be honest, they caught us sleeping and scored two goals in the first 10mins, so we can’t let that happen again. The pitch played a big part in that game as it was really heavy so we couldn’t play our own style of shinty, this week we will need to adapt quicker and try settle into the game

You made your Scotland debut last year – how did this honour feel, and how are you working towards being in the frame for another call up for 2025?

Representing your country is always a nice honour but it hasn’t even crossed my mind this year, it really is a long season so it is important to not look too far ahead and only concentrate on each week as it comes

Lochside Rovers take on Strachur-Dunoon in their Bullough Cup defence and have only lost 2 matches in the last year – how good is it seeing the youngsters developing, and do you think they can be Important for Oban Camanachd in the long term

David and Duncan have done a brilliant job with Lochside over the last couple of seasons. With a lot of our senior players being injured this year we have had to rely on many of the younger Lochside boys to step up and they have all done pretty well.
