Ferguson Transport & Shipping Game of the Week - Lochaber vs Col-Glen

Seonaidh MacDonald Interview

Taynuilt is the venue this Saturday, as 1st vs 2nd in the National Division go head to head for a place in the Balliemore Cup Final. Ahead of the game, we spoke to Lochaber’s Seonaidh MacDonald.

It’s a trip to Taynuilt to face Col-Glen in the Balliemore Semis, how are you feeling ahead of the game?

I think everyone is feeling confident we can go out and win on Saturday. It will be a tough game no doubt especially since there’s a place in a cup final at stake and Col Glen are not an easy team to beat, however I think we have more than enough quality to get the job done.

Col-Glen occupy second place behind yourselves – how big a task will it be to come out winners?

Col Glen are a strong side who are on a good run of form this year so it won’t be easy. We have played them twice already this year and beat them in both games so we know the effort we will have to put in to get a result.

How would it feel to potentially repeat 2023’s Balliemore Cup win?

It would be great as there’s not much better than winning trophies, especially with the final being at Spean. Need to get through to the final first though.

On a personal level, how do you feel your game is developing?

I’m really enjoying my shinty so far this year. It helps that I’ve been able to stay injury free and train the whole season through so far.
