Congratulations to Kinlochshiel Shinty Club U17’s Winning the MOWI London Shield against a strong Inverness side.
With the score 0-0 at half time the game could have gone either way with chances at both ends. Kinlochshiel came out the stronger side in the second half and Liam Matheson capitalised on their pressure by sending a fantastic strike into the back of the net and putting Shiel’ 1-0 up.
Inverness never stopped battling and looked dangerous on the break but never tested the Kinlochshiel keeper enough to find an equaliser. With the last strike of the game Kinlochshiel’s Archie Macrae put the game to bed with the game finishing 2-0.
Kinlochshiel Captain Rory Slaughter not only picked up the London Shield but also deservedly collected the Douglas Mackintosh Memorial Medal for Player of the Match.
A huge thanks to MOWI for their continued support and sponsorship, to Lovat for hosting the days game, Charlie Maclennan for piping the teams out, to Norman Strachan and Neil G Paterson for filming and photographing the game and to the fantastic match officials.
