Glen will take on Newtonmore in a rematch of last year’s London Shield final – how are you feeling ahead of the game?

Myself and the rest of the team are looking forward to the final. Since we faced Newtonmore in the MacTavish Juvenile final, we have been trying to focus on key areas that needed some work and have been training hard to improve those areas.

What does it mean to lead your club out in a final?

It means a lot to me. This ia my last year of U17s and I am very proud to captain my team to two finals this year.

6 Glen players were selected for the Mens u17s & Women’s u16s area rep squads – how big a testament to the hard work put in by all in the club is this?

It is a great accomplishment by the players. It makes all the hard work and training worth it. We’re happy that there is many of us getting represented. It gives some of our younger players something to look up to and strive towards.

A lot of your teammates are beginning to make their mark in senior shinty – do you feel the players can continue success in youth competitions at a senior level in the coming years?

I feel like we have some fantastic youth teams coming through. Our older players in these teams have been playing senior level shinty for a few years and have helped pass on experience and encourage the younger players, which has helped them develop even more. I do feel like we can continue to keep making these finals and continue competing for leagues and cups for plenty years to come.

On a personal level, how do you feel your game has developed?

I feel like my game has developed a huge amount over this past season. Having being picked for the Scotland team and the North team, it has given me tons of experience, motivation to keep training and working hard and confidence to know I can put in good performances week in week out.
