Catrin, with the league wrapped up you can make it a double by winning the challenge cup – how are you feeling ahead of the game?

It was great to be presented with the league trophy last Sunday; I’m really proud of the girls and how hard we have worked to get there. As a squad we are definitely excited for the Challenge Cup final this Saturday, but we’ve taken it one game at a time this whole season, so Saturday won’t be any different.

It’s a rematch of last year’s final – you know how strong Inverness are, will the girls have to be at their best to come out winners?

Yes, there is definitely pressure knowing how strong Inverness are. Although I think we have all found some comfort in the sense that we faced them in the final last year. We know how much hard work and effort we have put in be in this position again and we are all looking forward to a competitive game come Saturdays final.

With Badenoch averaging nearly 6 goals a game whilst having conceded the least in the league it’s evident the squad is strong back to front – how important is this balance?

The balance we have developed in our squad this season is extremely important. As you said, we have to be strong across the park to make such a goal difference and this season we have really came into our own and play really well as a team.

The young talent in the side is clear, do you think a lot of your teammates can kick on and lead the way in the first team in the future?

Definitely, all the girls have massive potential to excel at a higher level when they are ready. With our squads average age being 16, I think it is clear that Badenoch ladies has a bright future ahead of them.

How big an honour has it been to captain the girls this season?

It has been a huge honour to captain our second team squad this season. I’m delighted with how well the girls have came together, on and off the pitch. It makes me really proud to be a leading part of something so special.
