Season Review: Badenoch II
Badenoch’s season in the Mowi North Division 2 has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows. They kicked off with a tough start, losing their first two games, including a 0-4 defeat to Strathglass. However, they bounced back in Week 3 with an emphatic 4-0 win over Lochaber. This set the tone for a series of strong performances, including a dominant 7-1 victory against Kinlochshiel in Week 5 and an impressive 10-0 win over Glengarry in Week 12.
The team showcased their attacking prowess, notably in Week 10, where they beat Inverness 16-0. Another standout was the 11-0 win against Kinlochshiel in Week 17. Despite these successes, Badenoch struggled with consistency, suffering significant losses, such as the 5-2 defeat to Lovat in Week 7 and a 6-2 loss to Strathspey in Week 9.
Badenoch ended the season with mixed results, securing victories like the 5-1 win over Glengarry in Week 15, but also enduring a tough 3-2 defeat to Lochaber in the final game.
Badenoch’s season has been marked by moments of brilliance, particularly in their attacking play. Their ability to score heavily in several matches indicates a potent forward line when they hit their stride. However, inconsistency has been their Achilles’ heel, with the team suffering some defeats that suggest issues in defence and perhaps a reliance on key players.
Season Review: Inverness II
Inverness had a season marked by some strong performances and some setbacks. They began on a high note, securing a 4-2 victory against Lochaber in Week 1 and following it up with a solid 2-0 win over Strathglass. Their early momentum continued with a 4-0 victory against Skye in Week 3.
However, their progress was halted in Week 4 with a 0-3 loss to Badenoch. Despite this setback, they rebounded with a thrilling 6-5 win against Glengarry in Week 5. Inverness then experienced a dip, suffering an 8-0 defeat to Kinlochshiel in Week 6 and a 7-1 loss to Strathspey in Week 7. They managed to exact some revenge in Week 8 with a 6-3 win over Strathspey.
Their attacking prowess shone again in Weeks 13 and 16, with commanding 9-0 and 10-2 victories against GMA and Lochaber, respectively. However, inconsistency reared its head once more with a 10-7 loss to Lovat in Week 15. Again though, Inverness would show determination and record a strong 10-6 victory over the same opponent in the final week.
Inverness’s season has been characterized by a mix of impressive victories and heavy defeats. Their ability to score freely in several matches highlights a strong offensive line-up, but this is counterbalanced by a defence that has been vulnerable against stronger opponents.
The team’s resilience is evident, particularly in how they bounced back from significant losses. Their high-scoring wins demonstrate a capacity to dominate games, especially when in the ascendancy.
