It’s a trip to Mossfield to take on Oban Camanachd, how is the mood in the squad ahead of the game?

I think we are in a good place right now. We have a good mix of experienced players and young lads that are coming through and playing well. There’s healthy competition for places in the squad. I’m just happy to be back playing again and hopefully have an injury free year. 

You’ve got to go back to 2022 to see the last time you won against your opponents, albeit the majority of games in-between have been 1-1 draws. What do you see as their strengths, and how can you look to exploit their weaknesses?

Oban are strong in all areas so I don’t see any obvious weaknesses in their line up. We have had some very close games and most of the time a draw was the fair result at the end. Having Daniel in charge will help Oban a lot I think- he knows a lot of us and how we work, since he played both with and against many of our players over the years. His insight can help make them a very tricky side to play against. We’ll need to match their tempo from the start if we are to compete. 

The season has been quite stop start up to now, but you’re one of 3 teams with a 100% record thus far, are you confident of keeping this strong form up?

Yeah, we have played well each week so far. It’s hard to get the momentum going with games cancelled but its the same for most teams. I think we competed well against Kingussie last weekend and although we didn’t get the result, its encouraging to come away from The Dell feeling that we pushed a top team hard and asked questions of them. 

Oliver MacRae has hit 2 in 3 games so far, how big a boost has his return been?

Having Oli back is a huge boost. He’s training well and in good shape. Having him play up front has worked so far but if we need to change things he can pretty much play anywhere, so the options he brings allow us to make changes when we need to.
