Mowi Game of the Week - Oban Camanachd vs Kinlochshiel

Lewis Cameron Interview

Mossfield will host the Mowi game of the week this Saturday, as Oban Camanachd host a Kinlochshiel side who are yet to taste defeat in the league this season. Having made his injury comeback at the tail end of the 2025 season, Lewis Cameron sits second in the league scoring charts so far, and we spoke to him ahead of the match.

You’ll face off against Kinlochshiel this weekend, how are you feeling ahead of the game?

I think you’ve got to be confident going into any game, and Saturday will be no different. We know we’re up against a good side, so we’re going to have to be at our best.

3 in 3 so far for yourself this season, is confidence flowing after being out for so long?

Yeah, it’s been a really disappointing couple of seasons with my injury, missing the majority of a season and a half, but I’ve managed to put that all behind me now. I’m eager to get on the pitch try and get a run of games and help the team as much as possible.

4 out of your last 6 games against Shiel have been 1-1 draws, what do you make of them as a team?

Yeah, that stat doesn’t surprise me to be honest. I can never remember an easy game against Kinlochshiel. They have had a positive start to their season, so we know it’s going to be a tough match.

Looking forward to the next few games, Camanachd will face Celtic then Inveraray in the cups – do you think the team can put together another few good cup runs this season?

We want to be challenging at all fronts the year. I think it’s important that we start to gather some momentum in the next few weeks, whether it be cup competitions or the league.
