Mowi Game of the Week - Kilmory vs Lochside Rovers
Euan Gilmour Interview
It’s the Bullough Cup this weekend as Kilmory face off against South Division 1 high flyers Lochside Rovers! We spoke to Kilmory captain, Euan Gilmour to find out more ahead of the big game.
Q: Euan, it’s a big final on Saturday. How are the boys feeling ahead of the fixture?
A: The boys are feeling excited and are really looking forward to it. It’s a big occasion for everyone involved and we’re eager to get out there.
Q: You’ve only lost one game all season. That must give you a lot of confidence going into the final?
A: Definitely. Winning most of our games has given us plenty of confidence, but Lochside are a good side so we know it’s going to be a real challenge.
Q: It’s Lochside Rovers in the final and they’re going well in South Division One. What do you make of them as a side?
A: As I said, Lochside are a very good side, so it’s definitely going to be a challenge. It’s one I’m really looking forward to and I’m sure the boys are as well.
Q: It’s always difficult playing a team from the league above, but Kilmory did beat Lochside Rovers a couple of years ago, so it can be done?
A: It definitely can be done. It will be a real challenge and a good test for us. We just need to go out, give it everything we’ve got and, most of all, enjoy the occasion.
Q: Kilmory have appeared in a couple of Chieftain’s Cup Finals over the past few years. Do you think that experience will help you manage the occasion?
A: Definitely. Playing in a few finals over the last couple of years will help settle the nerves a wee bit because we know what to expect from a big game like this.
