It’s Skye in the cup this weekend – how are you looking forward to the game?

Looking forward to the game, it’ll be a tough challenge and we know Skye will be keen to keep on their recent run of form – but we’ll be working hard to compete and give our best. A home game at Blairbeg is always one to look forward to.

It’s been a mixed start to the league campaign, however you kept your first clean sheet of the season last weekend against GMA – do you think GU can use this as a springboard to kick off their season?

We knew this year was going to be tough in the new Premier League- so we didn’t come into it unaware of the work ahead of us – and despite some more disappointing score lines we’ve had some very competitive games. The clean sheet against GMA will be something to take some confidence from and hopefully we will start to see a bit more belief amongst the squad.

On a personal level you’ve netted 5 goals and sit joint 6th in the scoring charts – how do you feel your own game is going right now?

⁠I suppose I’ve started well enough, seeing chances and taking them. The forward line has had a bit more time to play together and gel so some of the passing and moving has started to link up really nicely- which defenders have told me is always a bit of a nightmare for them. Even last week despite not getting goals we created some chances to test the GMA keeper.

Your reserves currently occupy second place in the Mowi North League and can go top should they win one of their games in hand – how good is it seeing this success, and how big a role do you think these young players can play in the future success of Glenurquhart Ladies?

⁠Young players always have to be at the heart of squad and planning. It’s alway been key for us to build a pool of talent to feed all the squads, we are starting to see more players coming through who can’t remember there was a time without a women’s shinty team in Glenurquhart and that experience and homegrown skill is going to be such a great asset to draw upon as we grow! Running two squads can be tricky for the management – but it gives everyone an opportunity to keep a club in hand and develop their skills.
