⁠Kinlochshiel have dominated the head to head record but haven’t won in the last three games against Skye, how are you feeling ahead of Saturday?

There is definitely a wrong to put right on Saturday and I know everyone will be up for it from both sides, it’s a derby so there will always be a bit of needle but it’ll take composure to win the game and if we play our shinty and work as unit we can get the job done.

Both sides have very strong defences, having only conceded 8 this year, what do you put that down to?

Our defence has been solid for a few years now and the core of the defence have played together for a while now. The addition of Arron Jack back there has been brilliant and he’s had some brilliant performances of late. Keeping organised is a big part of it.

⁠Kinlochshiel are slowly transitioning with young players coming in all the time to supplement the squad that did the MacTavish and Camanachd double in 2021, how important are the young guys to your success?

Yeah, we’ve been integrating younger lads into the team the last 2 seasons and they have brought a new energy to us, it’s our job to make them comfortable and help them gain confidence. A few have well and truly made their mark already.

You made a corker of a save on Saturday against GMA, how’s your confidence at the moment?

My job is to keep level headed under pressure and help organise the team from the back, I’ve had a few good performances this season and potentially in the best shape I’ve been in physically for some time now, you just need to trust the work you do in the week and go into the weekend with a level head trust yourself and trust the boys in front of you first and foremost.
