It’s a first home game for Skye as they take on Fort, how are you feeling ahead of the game?

The first home game of the season is always an exciting one. We pride ourselves on putting in strong performances at Pairc Nan Laoch, so we will be looking to keep things tight at the back and try some new things up top in front of our home fans.

What lessons and positives can you take from your opener against Kingussie?

We were slightly disappointed with the result, but on reflection we know we played well in large spells of that game. It was our first time on grass in a few weeks so it was good to blow off the cob webs, and who better to test yourself against than Kingussie.

You’ve got to go all the way back to 2021 to see Skye failing to beat Fort, although the wins have been by slim margins. Do you think you can keep this streak going?

The games against Fort William are always battles. They have got off to a flyer and we know the threats they carry up front – they can be resolute in defence so we will need to be at our best on Saturday to overcome them.

Skye finished the season on a strong note, going 5 undefeated, do you think the team can build on this?

Obviously we had a bit of a set back last weekend but the lads are resilient so I’m sure we will put it behind us and set things right with a good performance this time round.

On a personal note, you gained your first Scotland cap last season before being named as Skye captain – how did it feel to receive the call?

Both have been great honours in different ways. Obviously the Scotland call was something you dream about your whole shinty career, however shinty is a team game, so the captaincy means just as much. Skye’s a massive club with a huge history of shinty die hards, so being asked to lead them out is pretty special. It’s definitely two highlights from my shinty career, I just need to back it up this season.
