Tayforth will host Aberdour this week, how are you feeling ahead of the game?

I’m really looking forward to playing Aberdour this weekend! I think it’ll be a good challenge for Tayforth!

Whilst it’ll no doubt be a tricky game, a win would be a big statement against a side in the division above, is that the level Tayforth are aspiring to play at long term?

Honestly I think the effort that has gone into building the Tayforth women’s team this past year will hopefully stand to us. The girls have been working hard every week and we can’t wait for the challenge. 

4 wins out of 4, 28 goals and 1 conceded this season, what’s worked so well?

I think the girls are starting to learn how to work together better. We have had a lot of new girls joining the team and they are getting stuck in and we are starting to play more like a team too. Still some kinks to work out but the commitment and numbers we are seeing every week has made such a difference! 

Do you think Tayforth can keep this momentum going and top the table come the end of the season?

We only have one team that we haven’t played in the league yet so I am liking our odds so far. But we are only half way through the season so it is all to play for. Tayforth has finished second the past 2 years so I think it’s finally time we step up and gain the south league title.

I think it will stand a testament to the work that everyone has put in to develop Tayforth’s ladies team. If the numbers we are getting keep showing up and the girls keep driving each other on I don’t see why the momentum would drop now. 

It’s no surprise plenty of them goals have come from yourself, what are your personal aims this season?

It’s hard to beat 50 goals across both the men’s and women’s league last year. Personally, I am aiming to help our girls get that south league title and to have fun playing shinty. I’m still new to the sport and am learning more and more every year so just remembering to enjoy it aswell.
