James, an exciting game this weekend as Newtonmore take on Lovat in the Strathdearn Cup Final, how are you and the team feeling ahead of the fixture?

Yes myself and the boys are really looking forward to it and it should be a great game.

You’ve already played Lovat this season, what are you expecting from them this weekend?

Lovat are like ourselves they play good open shinty and we know they are really potent in the final third.

Last year Lovat won the Strathdearn after a crazy 4-4 draw after ET with it being 0-0 at FT! Were you involved that day and if so, what was it like to take part in such a crazy match?

Yes I played in the final last year, it was possibly the best game we played all season we took our eye off it when we were 4-0 up. But, now we know the game is never over until the final whistle.

You also take on Lovat in the Highland Industrial Supplies Sutherland Cup Final – that will be the 4th time you will have played this season and the 8th in 2 years – you must be sick of the sight of them?

We are absolutely delighted to be in two finals and we are looking forward to both games.

On a personal note, you are the Captain this year – how does it feel to know you will be leading the team out in a Cup Final on Saturday?

Yeah I’m really excited to be leading out Newtonmore and I’m looking forward to the occasion.
