Peterson Park, Yoker was the venue for the South of Scotland U-17 MacQuisten Cup final between holders Oban Camanachd and Glasgow Mid Argyll.

The game started with early chances for both sides and only good goalkeeping kept the scores level, Oban Camanachd had the wind behind them, but as the match progressed it was GMA who carved out the better chances however, a combination of missed chances and good defending prevented them taking the lead. Oban Camanachd were far from out of the game and driven on by the excellent Matthew Sloss at centre forward were always a threat. And It was that man Matthew Sloss who broke the deadlock on 39 minutes with a powerful long-range shot, to give Oban Camanachd a 1.0 half-time lead.

The second half started with GMA on the attack, and they scored a well-deserved equaliser on 43minutes with a goal from Ryan Mackenzie. Calum Robb then put GMA ahead with a neat finish on 52minutes and minutes later he scored his 2nd goal of the game to put GMA 3.1 up. The momentum was with the talented young GMA side and further goal followed from Ryan Mackenzie with his 3rd goal of the game, Scott Craig, Ryan Mackenzie with his 3rd goal of the game, and just on 80 minutes Logan Adam rounded of the scoring with an excellent strike to bring the final score to Glasgow Mid Argyll 7 Oban Camanachd 1.

This was an excellent final and a great advert for youth shinty.

Congratulations to Glasgow Mid Argyll who played well throughout and ran out deserved winners on the day.
