Shinty’s premier cup competition returns this weekend, as Bute travel to Drumnadrochit to take on Glenurquhart in the preliminary round of the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup. Ahead of Saturday, we spoke to Bute’s Marcus Planck.
Saturday sees an all national tie to decide who progresses into the 1st round of the cup – do you anticipate it being a close contest?
Yeah, I do think it will be a tough game heading up north, but the boys have been training hard the past couple of month, so hopefully we will manage to take the win back down the road with us
What are Bute’s aims for this season?
As a team we are looking to stay high up in the league table and get a couple of good cup runs on the way as well.
It’s a long trip to Drumnadrochit – how do you keep yourself entertained on trips like these?
The trip up is always quiet, with everyone focused on the game – then the trip back home depends on the scoreline to see how messy it gets!
On a personal level, what are you looking to achieve this season?
As an individual, I will be looking to improve as a player working on my touch, passing, and my fitness.
