Comann Camanachd Chinn a' Ghiuthsaich

Shinty has been played in Badenoch for centuries, particularly at New Year. The first recorded match at the Dell was on 30th January, 1866. Kingussie Camanachd Club was founded in 1890 following the collapse of the Badenoch Shinty Club. Kingussie has played at the Dell ever since at the picturesque venue on the banks of the River Spey.

23 TIMES CAMANACHD CUP WINNERS

Kingussie has enjoyed many successes over the years, including winning the first ever Camanachd Cup in 1896. One of the Club’s most memorable days was in 1961 when the team won the Camanachd Cup for the first time in 40 years. The most successful period in the Club’s history came in the 1980s and 1990s when the team set the highest standard of play.

Nowadays, Kingussie Camanachd Club is a successful modern day sports club which runs five teams at all age groups. A focus of the club is on the development of youth players with regular coaching and training taking place on the Dell.
