Beauly make the trip to Castle Leod next week to kick off the u17’s league – how do you see the game going?

I think we absolutely could get a good result against Cabers. We’ve got a young team going forward, but a lot of good talent. I think teamwork and communication will be the difference between a win and a loss. So if we are to go up there and stay positive and shift the ball fast and play aggressively, not dirty we can definitely come out on top.

You’ve been playing regularly in the Premiership despite your young age – how does this feel?

Playing in the premiership has been brilliant despite a tough start. Marking some of the top defenders has taught me so much about shinty in such a short period of time. Being in the first team has really made me feel good about myself, showing my training is paying off.

You scored against Kingussie, before pushing them all the way to extra time – do moments like these serve as motivation?

Scoring against Kingussie was really a confidence booster, even though we lost in the end – I felt our whole team was superb.

How do you feel your development is going, and what are your personal aims in the game?


I feel that I’ve come a long way from just last year playing under 14s – I was unfit, and a lazy player, but I’ve turned that around with a lot of days on the training field, as well as off it.

What are the u17’s goals for this season?

Our goals for the under 17s is of course to come out on top of our league and ultimately win the MacTavish Junior Cup, which is definitely not out of reach with enough training and commitment.
