Robert (RJ) McLauchlan (Inveraray, Furnace, Oban Lorn and Strachur)

Passed away peacefully on Monday 28th with his family all around him. Robert was a great shinty player in Argyllshire, lately a goal judge and attended many Camanachd matches and presentations through invitation by the committee.

Born in Sinclair Drive on 24 September 1936. He spent most of his working live as a shepherd at Loch Katrine then moved to Callander when he retired. Every Saturday he would follow his love of Shinty and travel Argyllshire every week to watch the sport.

Two Grandsons Scott & Gavin McLauchlan play for Caberfeidh and his youngest grandson Jack Steadman has started playing with Stirling Camanachd, following in RJ’s footsteps.
