Dunadd will take to the field in the first edition of the Single Team Cup final, how is the buzz around the club ahead of the game?

We are all beyond buzzing to have reached the Single Team final. At the beginning of the season we set this as a target and it would be unreal if we could go all the way and become inaugural champions.

It’ll be a tricky one against a team in the league above, but do you think the quality in the squad can match the Glen?

The last time we played Glenurquhart was a 4-2 away loss 2 years ago. I have no doubt but if that if we all play our best and work hard for one another that we have what it takes to bring the cup home. We know that if we want to be the best we must beat the best, and playing a premiership side will be a great experience no matter the result.

The team come into this one on an 8 game winning streak having scored at least 6 goals in every game – what is working well right now?

The obvious answer would be that the forward line has been on red hot form all season. However what the results don’t show is that we are able to grind out wins even when we aren’t playing at the level we should be. There is a very optimistic atmosphere in the squad at the moment and that self belief is something that we’ve lacked in previous seasons.

Looking at the league Dunadd are well placed to overtake Badenoch at the top of the table, could a win be the springboard needed to make those games in hand count?

With the number of crucial fixtures that we have in the back half of the season, it is important that we take every game as it comes and don’t get ahead of ourselves. We are completely focussed on the Single Team Final this week but no matter the result we will give our all against Badenoch, as we know they are a tough team to beat – especially away from home.

How good an addition to the women’s shinty calendar are the Single Team & Premier Cups?

We have really enjoyed our run in the Single Team Cup because it’s given us the chance to play teams in other leagues like Tayforth, Beauly and Glenurquhart. It is great to see a designated women’s 12 aside competition and I can’t wait to watch the Premier Cup final on Sunday after our match.
